2010 Antonelli San Marco Sagrantino di Montefalco
Region: Sagrantino di Montefalco, Montefalco, Umbria, Italy
Tasting Note:January 19, 2019
Dark garnet red. A little bit floral on the nose with some dried red fruits as well. A little tight too. Medium woody tannins (6/10) and medium to medium plus body. Insanely dry and still an infant. Flavors of cherries, gravel and a touch of dark strawberries. Long finish.
Made out of 100% Sagrantino from Montelfaco in Umbria, just north of Rome. Aged for six months in large 600L barrels, before aging for 18 months in oak barrels. Once barrel aging is complete it is aged for 12 months in glass lined concrete vats and then 12 months in bottle.
