2013 Left Bend Winery Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Note:March 17, 2017
Deep ruby red. Nose changed quite a bit, starting off with strong tires or rubber, a little burnt with a stinky note too. Opened up with a touch of black fruits. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. A touch earthy on the attack with some damp leaves and a little greenery. Needed a little time to fully open up with some more savory characteristics as well as black fruits, red berries, more specifically black cherries, and dark gravel. Medium plus to long finish. Needed about a two hour decant.
Aged for 22 months in 54% new American and French oak, well the rest is aged in neutral oak. This wine is whole berry fermented and destemmed. Only 89 cases produced and 14.6% alcohol.
