2015 Left Bend Winery Last Straw

Deep ruby red. A bit mute on the nose with raw cocoa, almost bitter with some dusty elements. Moderate acidity and tannins with a medium body. Some port-like characteristics but mainly just stewed berries, raisinets and cocoa. Semi-dry medium length finish.
Made up of 66% Zinfandel, 21% Carignane, 8% Syrah, and 5% Mourvedre. Aged for 10 months in once used American oak barrels. This wine is made as a straw wine, which means that the grapes used to make this wine are left out to dry on straw in order to concentrate the flavors. Only 50 cases produced.
