2010 Cirrus Syrah

Tasting Note:July 26, 2016

Ruby red with a purplish hue. Very tight on the nose with some chalk, and stewed berries, very rich. Palate was a little bland with some savory berries. Moderate tannins (5.5/10), medium bodied and dry medium finish.

Interesting project in Stellenbosch, South Africa that is a collaborative effort between Ray Duncan and his sons of Silver Oak Cellars and Jean Engelbrecht of Rust en Vrede. Aged for 18 months in a combination of new French and American oak barrels.
