2012 Venteux Vineyards Tache Le Verre
Tasting Note:July 25, 2016
Deep and dark ruby red. Nose is coated in dark berries, cinnamon, nutmeg and a savory undertone. Lots of heat on the palate with blueberries barely showing through. A little bit of baking spices too. Moderate tannins (7/10) and medium plus body. Long and lingering finish. Definitely needs some more time in the bottle before you pop this.
Tache Le Verre means 'Stains the Glass' in French and it fits this wine perfectly. Made of 100% Syrah from the Alison Canyon Vineyard. Aged for 24 months in new Radoux French oak barrels.
