Bright crimson red. Layered nose that started out smokey with some chalk and then added a savory touch with lightly charred meat and a slight barnyard funk. Some cassis and blackberries rounding it out. Palate was slightly savory. Dryish moderate finish. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and moderate body. Definitely grows on you as you keep on trying it and as it breathes, great value.

Covers all five Bordeaux varietals with 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec. Aged in 25% new barrels. Barrels were a mix of 80% French oak and 20% American oak for 14 months.
