2010 Howell at the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Note:August 14, 2017
Deep and opaque ruby red. Needed an hour to two to open up on the nose with dark baking spices, dark cocoa, and purple floral notes. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Rich, layered and complex palate. Notes of dark berries, nutmeg, cinnamon, bramble berries, dark mountain fruit, graphite and dark chocolate. A touch bitter in the finish that blew off with some time, long and lingering too. Will only get better over the next few years.
Perfect bottling of some Howell Mountain juice for the 2017 Eclipse!
