Medium garnet red. A bit stinky on the nose with some dried cherries and crushed gravel. Medium plus tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Good amount of leather on the palate with some herbs, dried cherries and dried wood. Very dry and long finish.
Made out of 100% Sagrantino from Montelfaco in Umbria, just north of Rome. Aged for six months in large 600L barrels, before aging for 18 months in oak barrels. Once barrel aging is complete it is aged for 12 months in glass lined concrete vats and then 12 months in bottle.
