Tasting Note:December 19, 2017

Second red wine at our tasting at Raats Family Wines with Marika. Medium to deep ruby red. A bit tight on the nose with roses, cherries and some more floral notes. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. Needs to integrate the alcohol a bit but layered nonetheless. Soft start on the palate with more power in the finish, notes of cherries, raspberries and crushed gravel. Dry and long finish.

Made up of 100% Pinotage from old vineyards in Stellenbosch. Aged for 18 months in tight grain neutral oak barrels.
