Tasting Note:May 27, 2018

Deep ruby red in appearance. Lush and dark nose with notes of dark red berries, cassis, black tea, mocha, vanilla and some gravel. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. A little bit gritty on the palate with layers of dark cocoa, blackberries, plums, touch of forest floor, dark spices and a bit of gravel. Dry and long finish.


First winery on day three traveling from Sonoma to Napa Valley was Pride Mountain Vineyards with Paul. The next red wine is the Cabernet Sauvignon with fruit coming from both Sonoma (46%) and Napa (54%) Counties. This bottling is made up of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot. Aged for nineteen months in 50% new French oak barrels. 5,945 cases produced.
