2017 Holden Manz Rosé
Region: Franschhoek Valley, Coastal Region, Western Cape, South Africa
Tasting Note:December 21, 2017
Third wine at Holden Manz with Wayne.
Light salmon pink. Lovely nose, not overripe but with layers of strawberries, melon, roses and white blossoms. Medium acidity (5.5/10) and well rounded with a light body. Crisp and fresh on the palate with a nice amount of red fruits, especially strawberries. Medium plus finish.
Interesting blend made up of 35% Syrah, 26% Grenache, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cinsault. Light amount of oak when it comes to aging, only 5% neutral French oak for six months, four of those on the lees.
