Deep and dark ruby red. Dark berries on the nose with some spiced notes. Medium tannins (6/10) with a medium plus body. Complex palate coated with baking spices, red currants, black cherries and touch of earth and gravel. Long finish.


Always love visiting Holden Manz, Gerard and Thierry whenever we are out in the Cape. Highly recommend if you ever visit wine country in South Africa. Last time we tried this was two years ago in barrel, now we finally get a chance to try the final product. This vintage is made up of 100% Merlot from the Holden Manz Estate. Aged for 27 months in 50% new French oak.

Barrel Tasting with Gerard Holden and Thierry Haberer.

Dark ruby red. Oddly a bit mute on the nose with some fruity notes. Medium tannins (7/10) and medium plus body. Dark berries and spices on the palate. Dry medium plus to long finish.
