Tasting Note:September 28, 2018

Dark purplish ruby red. Some classic Pinotage notes on the nose with some smoky and savory elements, dark berries, purple flowers and slightly burnt rubber. Medium plus tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Big palate full of blackberries, black cherries, cedar and baking spices. Long and lingering palate with great mouthfeel.

Thirty-fifth wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and the twenty-third red wine. This is made up of 100% Pinotage by Pierre Wahl with fruit from Tulbagh. Aged for 22 months in a mix of new and second fill French oak barrels. Only 60 cases produced with 40 being auctioned in 2018.
