2015 Johan Joubert Wines Cape Winemakers Guild Granite Selection Cabernet Sauvignon

Dark garnet with a little bricking on the edges. Big nose coated in dark spices, dry gravel and rich black cherries. Heavy tannins (8/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Layered palate with cinnamon, black cherries, vanilla and dark gravel. Strong acidity building this wine for age. Long and dry finish.
Twenty-sixth wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and the fifteenth red wine. This is made up of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon by Johan Joubert from foothills of the Helderberg Mountains in the Stellenbosch region. Aged for 27 months in 100% new French oak barrels prior to bottling. Only 100 cases produced with 30 being auctioned in 2018.
