2015 Edgebaston Cape Winemakers Guild Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

Dark ruby core with garnet edges. Rich nose with black currants, a touch of blackberries and purple flowers. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Rich and fruity on the palate with some cocoa, blackberries, cassis and dried spices. Long and lingering finish.
Twenty-seventh wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and the sixteenth red wine. This is made up of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon by David Finlayson from the Simonsberg region in Stellenbosch. Aged for twenty months in 100% new French oak barrels prior to bottling. Only 80 cases produced with 50 being auctioned in 2018.
