Tasting Note:September 28, 2018

Deep garnet red. Quite chalky on the nose with a lot of greenery and a touch of dark berries. Solid acidity with medium tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. A bit of dried fruit on the palate with some gravel and bell peppers. Medium to medium plus finish. Needs time to beef up and develop.


Twenty-first wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and the tenth red wine. This is made up of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot by Boela Gerber from Constantia. Aged for a total of 18 months in 85% new French oak prior to blending and bottling. Only 100 cases produced with 40 being auctioned in 2018.
