2007 Grangehurst Cape Winemakers Guild Auction Reserve
Tasting Note:September 29, 2018
Medium to deep garnet red with browning on the edges. A bit of age on the nose with notes of tomato, greenery, truffles, red plums and chalk. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Solid acidity on the palate with red cherries, chalk, gravel and some darker berries in the long finish.
Eighth wine in the VIP tasting lounge during the Cape Winemakers Guild Auction and fifth still red wine. This is made up of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Petit Verdot and 8% Merlot by Jeremy Walker from Stellenbosch. Aged for a total of 27 months. Only 147 cases produced with 14 being auctioned in 2018 and 70 auctioned in 2017.
