Tasting Note:May 29, 2018

Pale lemon yellow with a light greenish hue. Layered and fresh nose coated with citrus zest, green apples, white flowers, melon and tropical fruits. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Crisp palate with a touch of hay and green apples. Long finish.

Third winery on our third day in Napa Valley is Shafer Vineyards located on the east side of the valley in the Stags Leap District. First wine is their Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay with fruit coming from the Carneros region in southern Napa. Made by Elias Fernandez. Made up of 100% Chardonnay and aged for 14 months in 75% new French oak.
