2014 Tuck Beckstoffer Mockingbird Blue

Deep and dark ruby red with a bit of garnet on the edges. Plush and robust nose layered with dark cocoa, cinnamon sticks, vanilla beans, blackberries and violets. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Voluptuous mouthfeel on the palate with tons of structure. Layers of cinnamon, blackberries, blueberries, cassis, cocoa beans and purple flowers. Long and lingering finish.
Second winery on our third day in Napa Valley is Tuck Beckstoffer Wines located at the old Dancing Hares property in St. Helena and hosted by Jessica. Fourth wine was their Tuck Beckstoffer Mockingbird Blue with all the fruit coming from the new estate vineyard (Dancing Hares Vineyard). Made by Andy Erickson and consultant, Philippe Melka and a touch of Michel Rolland. Made up of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Merlot.
