2013 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

First wine from the third table we visited at Zachy's Grand Opening in D.C.
Deep garnet with a mix of ruby core. Slightly savory on the nose, a bit dirty too with earthy and woody notes. Dark berries weaved throughout. Similar on the palate with vanilla and black currants. Heavy tannins (7/10) while being smooth and rounded. Full bodied and long finish.
Made up of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec. Aged for a total of 24 months in 50% new American oak barrels. Additionally this is aged for 15 months in bottle prior to release.
