2012 Durant & Booth Malbec

Deep ruby red that completely coats the glass. Layered nose with dark spices, cocoa, a bit dusty, dark raspberries, brown sugar and some oak influence. A bit of anise on day two as well. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Complex dark fruits with dark cranberries, boysenberry jam and a bit candied two. A touch of cherry cough syrup on day one that dissipated with some air. Undertone of some sweet spices too. Dry medium length finish.
This is a blend of 90.3% Malbec, 5.8% Cabernet Franc, 2.4% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1.5% Petit Verdot. Aged for 24 months in 75% new French oak. Solid inaugural vintage and great Malbec. Only 208 cases produced.
