2015 Southold Farm + Cellar The Devil Makes Three
Tasting Note:March 30, 2017
Medium to deep ruby red. Interesting nose with blueberry or black raspberry cola and a touch of nutmeg. Low plus tannins (4.5/10) and light to medium bodied. Layered with cherries, cola, spices, and a touch of herbs. Lighter than expected, definitely seemed like it was from a cool climate, similar to some Loire Cabernet Francs we have tried. Fun and elegant, rather feminine too with a moderate length finish.
2015 is the last vintage of wines from the North Fork for this winery. They have just recently decided to pick up and move to Gillespie County, Texas. This bottling is made up of 69% Cabernet Franc, 20% Malbec, and 11% Merlot. Only 317 cases produced.
