Tasting Note:February 06, 2017

Deep and dark ruby red with a purplish hue. Toasty attack on the nose with layers of black cherries, cassis, blackberries, a bit of anise and chalky. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied but rather approachable for a 2014. Velvet and lush on the palate, immensely dark too with dark cocoa, slight black peppercorn, dark baking spices and thick. Tons of structure too. Long and lingering finish.

All fruit is from the Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard in Rutherford. Ages for around 20 months in 70% new French oak. Only 150 cases produced.
