2013 Serrano Cabernet Sauvignon
Inaugural vintage of this Cabernet Sauvignon from Serrano Wine. Dark ruby red with purplish hues. Nose was an attack of sweet and smoked BBQ meat as well as some tobacco. Fruity attack and very jammy on the palate. Needs to mellow out a bit with a ton of dark black and blue berries. Moderate plus tannins (7.5/10) and moderate plus body. Slightly dry in the long finish with some herbs. Honestly we were not expecting much out of this wine but we were very impress. This wine lasted forever, on day four the palate added a ton of baking spices, plums, cassis, extremely balanced and extracted with a slightly savory undertone. Incredible and definitely has put a bright light on Westside Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignons.
Very first vintage being produced by Brice Garrett and Sarah Fleming. Brice takes on the wine-making of Serrano Wine while Sarah takes on the business and logistical side of Serrano Wine. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Aged in French oak for around 26 months. Only 222 cases produced.
