$$ - Tasted at the estate, can be purchased for $40.00.First time trying the 2013 Flora Spring Cabernet Sauvignon and we were thoroughly surprised. Super dark and intense ruby red. Classic Napa and oaky nose with notes of baking spices like nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla as well as some blackberries and dark cherries. Moderate tannins (7/10) with a moderate plus body. Very similar on the palate, very extracted and fruit forward. Coated with red and dark fruits. Some light nutmeg and other baking spice undertone. Long finish. Great QPR we will definitely pick up a few bottles!
This is the entry level Cabernet Sauvignon bottling from the Flora Springs Family Estate. The fruit used in this bottling is from all over the Napa Valley from vineyards owned by the estate. For the 2013 bottling there is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 3% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot that is aged in a mix of 75% French oak barrels and 25% American oak barrels. Of these 35% are new, this is aged for eighteen months before bottling. This is one of our favorite value wines, as this comes in at $40.00 but drinks closer to a $60.00 plus bottle.
