2012 Azienda Agricola La Greggia Vicomoro
Region: Chianti, Tuscany, Italy
Most balanced out of the three. Made of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Bright crimson red. Started off with a little bit of sour red cherries with raspberries and strawberries on day one. On day two the nose began to open up with strong red cherries and some light earthy note, not mineral at all. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) with a medium bod with lots of red cherries and raspberries, coupled with light cassis just before the finish. Moderate finish that drys out the back of your palate. Strong acidity carries through till the end of the finish. Tried again on day three and four, still held together and so smooth.
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Aged for twelve months in new French oak barrels and 3 months in the bottle prior to lease. Only 6,600 bottled add.
2016 till 2022.
