2012 Andis Wines Mourvedre
Tasting Note:June 17, 2016
Second red from Andis Wines. Bright garnet red. Very complex nose with a bunch of meaty notes like bacon fat and gamey notes. Plenty of undertones of flowers, cinnamon, spices and some light greenery. Not as complex as the nose but on the palate there are some red cherries, bacon fat and floral notes. Moderate tannins (5/10) and light bodied. Great acidity with a moderate finish.
Deadman's Fork Vineyard is located at around 2,000 feet in the Fiddletown AVA in Amador County. Soil is very rocky and on a hilly slope. Made of 100% Mourvedre and only 338 cases produced.
