2006 Cameron Hughes Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve
Region: Napa Valley, California, United States of America
Only Cameron Hughes we have had in the past was one of the old Yountville lots. From some of the articles we have seen this wine had some high expectations. Ruby red core with slight browning on the edges. Classic Napa nose, lots of dark fruits, dark cocoa and spices. Seems quite rounded. Moderate plus tannins (7.5/10) with quite a bit of heat, it stings your throat. Moderate body coated with dark fruits and berries, especially creme de cassis. Long lingering finish. Not balanced and needs time to integrate, only time will tell. Wouldn't try this wine again until 2019.
The six pack is made up of a vertical from 2006 to 2011. Additionally, it states that this is from cult vineyards from the AVAs of Rutherford, Oakville, and St. Helena's best vineyards.
Try again after 2019.
