Frias Family and Flora Springs | Day Two Napa Valley 2017

First Stop: Frias Family Vineyard

We decided to make a stop before going to the Flora Springs Trilogy Release Party. We were not able to make it up to the Frias Family Vineyard in the Spring Mountain District due to weather but we were able to taste through their lineup at their old offices in Napa.

Super fun comparative tasting with Oakville vs. Spring Mountain District. We tried the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc, 2014 Topografía, 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District, 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Block 5, 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Prado, 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva, and 2013 Syrah. Recommend: Recommended, great wines for their price point, in an area where the price is only increasing.

Final Stop: Flora Springs Family Estate

One of the main reasons we were out in Napa this time of year was for the 30th Flora Springs Trilogy Release Party. Stunning food, we loved the dish from Zuzu and it was easier to find the 2014 Trilogy than it was to find water. It was really fun to try out some of the older vintages of Trilogy as well as a couple single vineyard bottles. Great party that we might have to go to next year!

First time we have made it out to Napa for the Flora Springs Trilogy Release Party. What a blast! Great cartering and music as well as some fun back vintages of the Trilogy and a couple single vineyard cabs. We tried the 1990, 1994 and 2014 Trilogy as well as the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Holy Smoke, 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Hillside Reserve and the 2005 and 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena Rennie Reserve. Price Ranges: $25.00 to $300.00

Recommend: Recommended, love the Trilogy as a Bordeaux blend under $100.00 and love the single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons.
