Tasting Note:December 18, 2017

Last wine for the Reserve Tasting at Waterford with Justin. Deep garnet ruby red. Layered nose starting off a bit herbal, spices, some wood notes and moving into some darker berries and earthy notes. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. A nice bit of spiciness on the palate with notes of peppercorn, dark cherries and earthy notes. Long and lingering finish.


A blend of all the different varietals grown on the property, this specific bottling is made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Shiraz, 7.5% Malbec, 7.5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Mourvèdre, 2.5% Sangiovese and 2.5% Barbera. Aged for 20 months in 30% new French oak barrels and only 23 barrels produced or around 575 cases.
