2016 Skinner Rosé

Estate: Skinner Vineyards
Region: El Dorado, Sierra Foothills, California, United States of America
Vineyards: Stoney Creek, Camino Ridge, Marchini, and Ransler Vineyards

Tasting Note:June 10, 2017

Peachy pink. Notes of watermelon, melon, peaches, stone and tropical fruits on the nose. Medium acidity (6/10) and light bodied. Strawberries on the palate, almost like strawberry cream. Medium bodied.

Super fun and refreshing Rosé from Skinner Vineyards (SV). This Rosé is what SV calls a "Purposeful Rosé", meaning that all the fruit used in this Rosé was picked for the sole purpose of making a Rosé, not bleed off at all. Fruit was pressed after around 2 to 6 hours on the skins. This is a Rhone blend Rosé made up of 43% Grenache, 33% Mourvédre and 23% Counoise with all fruit coming from local vineyards in El Dorado (41% Camino Ridge, 14% Marchini Vineyard, and 12% Ransler Vineyard) and their estate vineyard (33% Stoney Creek Vineyard).
