2005 Celler Escoda-Sanahuja Les Paradetes
Region: Conca de Barberà, Tarragona, Catalunya, Spain.
No mold on the top of the cork this time. Medium brick to garnet red. A little mute on the nose to start with a touch of earthiness, strawberries, and some spices. Mouthwatering acidity (7/10), moderate tannins (5/10) and light plus to medium bodied. Tart cherries and strawberries on the palate with some dirt and some herbs. Long and dry finish. Has the acidity to go a couple more years.
Scores over the last bottle we tried. This is a Garnatxa (Grenache) based-blend with a bit of Cariñena. Newer vintages also have some Samso in the blend as well. Aged in stainless steel for around 10 months prior to bottling with no filtration. Under 4,000 bottles produced and 13.5% alcohol.
2016 till 2019.
