2016 Cape Venture Wine Lubanzi Chenin Blanc

Estate: Cape Venture Wine
Region: Swartland, Coastal Region, South Africa
Vineyard: Leeuwenkuil Vineyard

Tasting Note:March 12, 2017

Medium pale yellow. Tight and a little mute on the nose to start, took 30 min or so for it to open up with a touch of white floral notes, a mix of citrus and stone fruits. As well as a bit of hay. Moderate acidity (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Balanced acidity with some citrus and tropical fruit notes. Crisp too with stone fruits, a touch of earthiness and hay in the midpalate. A bit simple but very enjoyable. Medium length finish. Great overall value at only $14.99 a bottle, with the most interesting cork, the helix cork.
