Second GdL we have tried. Only other was the 2001 and this was a lot more enjoyable. Ruby red appearance. Nose was coated with red cherries with a slight rubber undertone. The palate was attacked with red fruits and berries. Solid acidity carries through. Slight undertones of earthiness, savoriness and slight anise. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and moderate body. Long finish lingers with a red cherry finish. Can definitely tell that this is a baby and will do well over the next ten or so years. It can use that time to fully integrate and develop.
