2012 Optima Winery Cabernet Sauvignon

First wine tasted tonight by Optima Winery. This was tasted over a two day period. We first tasted this and noticed it was very tight and closed up. So we gave it a little bit of time to open up. Wine was a deep garnet red. Even after opening up for an hour it was still very tight on the nose with muted notes of cherries, cassis and blackberries. The dark fruits finally started to show more after another hour. Palate was soft when thinking of the intensity of flavor, with cassis and baking spices/oak influence like vanilla and cinnamon. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. Texture at the finish was a little furry almost like sandpaper and was moderate plus in length.
