2012 Avalon Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford

Dark and deep ruby red. Slight dirty cellar on the nose, dust and a little savory. Some light undertones of stinky cheese and vegetal notes. As it opened up it added notes of dark fruits. Palate started with a little black pepper, dark berry jam, plums and definitely has a savory twist to it. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. Medium finish as well. Great QPR/value wine and a perfect wine to introduce someone to the Rutherford AVA without breaking any bank.
