1974 Charles Krug Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage Selection Lot F1
Tasting Note:December 1, 2018
Medium garnet and brick red. Lush and layered nose with cedar, leather, animal nuances, and dried cherries. So well rounded and integrated tannins (6/10). Medium plus to full bodied. Killer palate with tons of leather, wood chips, cherries and some plums. Long and lingering finish with great acidity.
Thank you David for opening this magnum. This is what drinking history tastes like. From what I can find, this bottling is comprised of some of the best blocks on the Fay Vineyard in the Stags Leap District. A real treat and hard to find if at all, I believe the estate only has 750mL bottles left.
