2016 Addax Proprietary Red
Inky purplish ruby red and completely coats the glass. Rich and layered nose with cinnamon, anise, black and blue fruits, dark sweet spices, and a touch of gunpowder. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Just what you would expect from Bevan; big, voluptuous and rich. Layers of black plums, cinnamon, fall spices, black dirt, blackberries and gravel. Long and lingering finish. Killer wine built for the long haul.
Second stop on day three and finally made it to Napa. We tasted through some wines from Standard Deviation Wines and Addax Wines with Josh and Cheryl at Brasswood. Next up for Addax Wines is their Red Wine made up of around 60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon from the Sugarloaf Mountain and Tench vineyards. Aged in 100% new French oak that have gone through a five year stave air drying process. Made by Russell Bevan.
2018 till 2036.
