2013 La Pitchoune Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast
Tasting Note:December 18, 2016
Medium garnet red. Layered nose with a little bit of dirtiness from the forest floor and a little smoky on the top. Underneath were some fire wood, red berries and purple flowers. Moderate acidity (6.5/10) and tannins (6/10) with a medium plus body. Great structure built up by the acidity with some tart red cherries, bramble berries and wood. Undertones of chalk and rose petals. Very well balanced and long dry finish. Great value and this is just their entry level Pinot.
Made up of 100% Pinot Noir from three different clones and aged in 25% new frech oak barrels for 11 months.
