2012 Pahlmeyer Merlot
Region: Napa Valley, North Coast, California, United States of America
Tasting Note:February 8, 2018
Sixth of our seven year vertical tonight....Scratch that the 2014 and the 2003 came out too.
Deep ruby red. A touch of TCA on the nose with black fruits and spices underneath. It’s bearable. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus body. Seems a bit delayed and a touch of dark cocoa and black berries. Can’t rate or give drink by. If I did would be around a 91-2 ignoring the nose.
Made of 91% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fruit comes from the Pahlmeyer Estate, Stagecoach and Las Amigas Vineyards. Aged in 75% new French oak for 18 months.
