2016 Villiera Cape Winemakers Guild Drip Barrel Cabernet Franc

Dark garnet red with a touch of ruby. Interesting nose with some herbal elements, stewed dark fruits and a touch of greenery. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Solid acidity with an elegant palate of purple flowers, red plums and red berries. Medium plus finish.
Twenty-fourth wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and the thirteenth red wine. This is made up of 100% Cabernet Franc by Jeff Grier from the Stellenbosch region. Aged for 18 months prior to bottling. Only 58 cases produced with 34 being auctioned in 2018.
