Tasting Note:September 28, 2018

Medium to deep ruby red in appearance. Coated with dark spices and berries on the nose with a touch of gravel at the back end. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. A bit savory on the front of the palate with herbs, spices and some dried cherries. Dry and long finish. Still a very young wine that needs some age to develop.

Sixteenth wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and the fifth red wine. This is made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Shiraz and 10% Cinsault by Louis Strydom from the Stellenbosch region. Aged for a total of eighteen months prior to blending and bottling. Only 200 cases produced with 60 being auctioned in 2018 and 60 auctioned in 2017.
