2015 Cederberg Cape Winemakers Guild Teen Die Hoog Shiraz

Dark ruby red. Complex and layered nose with cinnamon, animal nuances, olives, mulberries and anise. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied. Rich palate with multiple layers and tons of structure. Notes of cinnamon, black fruits, black olives, leather and gravel. Long and lingering finish.
Twenty-ninth wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and the eighteenth red wine. This is made up of 100% Shiraz by David J Nieuwoudt from the Cederberg region. Aged for fifteen months in 100% new French oak barrels. Only 150 cases produced with 44 being auctioned in 2018 and 60 auctioned in 2017.
