2015 Force Majeure Estate Syrah

Deep and rich purplish red. A bit mute on the nose but with solid crushed gravel with some spices, meaty and dusty black cherries. Medium plus acidity (6.5/10) and full bodied. Layered palate with dark cocoa, spices, leather, black olives, savory, dark berries and licorice. Long and lingering finish. Time will reward this baby.
This is the estate Syrah from Force Majeure and Todd Alexander. Made up of 100% Syrah from the top of their hillside vineyard, this wine definitely brings out some of those stoney characteristics. Aged in a combination of new and used French oak barrels for 18 months. Only 350 cases produced.
