Tasting Note:September 15, 2017

Perfect wine for International Grenache Day! Been trying to find one of these Ochota Barrels wines in the states and finally found one at a big discount in State College.

Mix of light to medium ruby and garnet red with more garnet on the edges. Lovely and fragrant nose with Asian five spice, cherries, lavender and a little prosciutto. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. Nice level of cherries on the palate with some forest notes, a little bit of gravel and savory characteristics. Even a touch blue near the finish. Long and dry finish.

Made of 100% Grenache from the Fugazi Vineyard in the Onka Blewitt District in McLaren Vale. Aged for seven months in used French oak barrels and only 188 cases produced. Bottle number 355 out of 2,256.
