2013 Skinner Petite Sirah

Deep purplish ruby red. Mute on the nose with dark powdered cocoa, and a touch of dark fruits like plums and black berries. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) on day one with a medium to medium plus body. Mute to start with a touch of blue and black fruits. Opened up within an hour with some minerality, graphite and some smoky notes. Medium plus finish.
Made up of 86% Petite Sirah, 5% Counoise, 4% Syrah, 3% Viognier, 1% Grenache and 1% Mourvedre. Aged for 23 months in 55% new French oak and 45% neutral French oak. Only 252 cases produced.
