2015 Fine Disregard Wine Co Milhouse Sémillon
Region: Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley, California, United States of America
Fun white to start off our blind tasting of Heitz Cellars with some ringers.
Bright greenish yellow. Layered nose that took a little time to open up with some citrus notes, green apples, honeycomb, hay, a touch floral and toasty. High acidity (7/10) and balanced with a light to medium body. Crisp and refreshing palate with notes of green apples, lemon, and minerality. Dry and long finish.
This is the inaugural vintage from a boutique winery, Fine Disregard, out of Napa Valley. They produce this Sémillon from the Oak Knoll District in Napa Valley (only 5 barrels) and a Syrah (one barrel) from the one last row of vines (150 vines) in the Stag's Leap District. Wines are made by Mike Schieffer who is the Assistant Winemaker at Turley Wine Cellars. Fun wines to check out, inaugural release was $98.00 for two Sémillons and one Syrah. Excellent inaugural vintage.
