2011 Addax Cabernet Sauvignon

Fun blind tasting of Napa Valley Cabernets, we decided to choose two from 2011 while my Dad selected two different vintages of Caymus Special Selection.
Firstly thank you Shay for gifting this bottle, a lot more fruit and no greenery compared to a lot of other 2011's out there. Deep ruby red with garnet edges. Complex layers on the nose with gunpowder, a touch of iron, dark berries, cedar, a little dirty, cinnamon, purple flowers and gravel. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and medium plus body. Quite elegant from what we expected for a Bevan wine. Lots of purple floral notes, dark red berries, and some oak too. More blue fruits on day two too. Solid minerality and long finish.
