2000 Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill Estate Vineyard
Tasting Note:April 21, 2017
First of the three blind tasted red this evening. Deep ruby core with a mix of garnet and brick edges. Layered nose with dark berries, leather, black cherries and a touch of raisins. Nice aged appeal. Very well integrated and balanced with moderate tannins (6/10). Mature palate with layers of dark stewed berries, forest floor and mushrooms. Medium bodied with a long finish.
The 2000 vintage is Cabernet-based blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Merlot from the Pritchard Hill Estate Vineyard. Aged for 24 months in 80% new French oak barrels. 14.5% alcohol.
