2015 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Aveta Sauvignon Blanc

Estate: Stag's Leap Wine Cellars

Region: Napa Valley, California, United States of America

Tasting Note:April 16, 2017

Medium pale yellow. Lots of citrus on the nose, especially orange zest and lemon/lime. A touch of honeysuckle too. Crisp and fresh, perfect for a summer day. Loads of citrus notes on the palate with a touch floral and apples. A little strong on the acidity (7.5/10) and light plus to medium bodied. Quite dry and long finish.

From the Napa Valley Collection for Stag's Leap Wine Cellars and a part of the core offering of wines from SLWCs. The fruit in the fruit in this 2015 vintage is from the Oak Knoll District (28% from the Danika Ranch Estate Vineyard and 11% from Bravo Zulu), Napa Valley (19% from the Rancho Chimiles Vineyard), Calistoga (15% from Solari), and Rutherford (12% from Beckstoffer Melrose). Made up of 79% Sauvignon Blanc and 21% Sauvignon Musque this is aged for 6 months sur lies in neutral French oak barrels. Aveta is the Gallic (Celtic) water goddess, which to me resembles fruitiness and brightness that this wine delivers on.
